The ill fated plane belonging to Associated Airlines was chattered to carry the remains of the late former governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Agagu . The plane is said to have crash landed shortly after take off from the domestic wing of Muritala Muhammed International Airport . The casket bearing Agagu's corpse was recovered almost intact at the scene of the crash. Rescuers said almost all parts of the aircraft was burnt except the back where the casket was kept. According to reports from the Chief Operating Officer of the airline, Mr Taiwo Raji , 13 persons have been confirmed dead and 7 survivors are hospitalized. The 23 year old plane is said to have flew last on the 30th of August 2013 without any faults. Associated Airlines has 10 air crafts in its fleet, and the ill fated plane is fully insured .
